Hey everyone,
so, fun fact, as I tried to pay at the gas station the other day my card was denied. I was given concerned glances and a meaningfully raised eyebrow by the lady at the counter informing me of the nature of my predicament. That felt strangely like a time warp back into my twenties. It has to do with some refund money from January to now which I, as the main boss of me, only paid out today to myself, because I only recently started to do some serious driving around for work again and I thought I’d wait until I could sum up some significant reimbursement. It turns out, even the smaller trips accumulate always more than I think, so tomorrow my private account will see some light at the end of the tunnel. But mostly, it has to do with the fact that my prestigious employment, funded by state government money, covers only about 29 working hours per week this last half year since the funding came into effect.
Which is, succinctly put, not enough. Mind you that I am earning the wage of a team leader at a level comparable to a posting in civil service. But. My contract is limited to 29 hours/week. So. Here we are. A bit sooner than I’d like, granted. I thought I had some more time before I needed to fall back on my savings from a load of work I did, freelancing as an impact surveyor. But I haven’t, and now they are used up.
The applications for two more funded projects at work have been handed in months ago, but the earliest I can know if they will go through is June 1st. Therefore, why don’t you head over to the donations page and do some paypaling in return for a tune or two. You can pay as much as you like from 1,29-ish € upward per song on my bandcamp. If you don’t like the music and/or simply want to simply give me money feel free to paypal the_rule_of_regina@live.co.uk. Much appreciated.
Because I am grateful in advance, and you seem like good people, and we have by now established that we have this relationship where I write something and you read it, I am giving you a heads up that I will upload my Alien fanfiction on AO3 tonight. If you do not know what AO3 is, please ask the internet. If you do not know what sort of Alien in connection with the word ‘fanfiction’ and the akronym AO3 I am talking about, I think you honestly may be mostly beyond help. But you can get clarity by watching Alien: Resurrection. There is hope for you yet.
I will post some poetry soon as well.
And there is a special surprise waiting for you at the end of the month, which I will spend on an island protecting a gull colony, without running water, very possibly getting shat on by birds a lot. I will, of course, tell you all about it and try and get some nice pictures for you.
As always, Mia.
